Have you ever take the time to identify your good and bad habits?

Do you know how they influence your life?

Which of your habits would be challenging to change?


Habits are gestures, thoughts, routines that we repeat automatically, always identically.

Habits can be beneficial, they help us organise and enjoy our day (sport, healthy diet, enough rest, etc).

Habits can also be negative like smoking, drinking too much or gambling.

Bad habits have bad consequences. The main problem with bad habits is the lack of control we have left.

This is why it is essential to identify your negative and bad habits to take control of your life.

If you manage to get rid of your unhealthy habits you can have a real positive impact on your life and your success.



Negative habits lead to:

  • Dissatisfaction

  • Disengagement

  • Being stuck in old ways

  • Lack of self-confidence

  • Freedom limits

  • Conflicts


Good habits directly lead to:

  • Satisfaction

  • Better lifestyle

  • Better health

  • Self-confidence

  • Success

  • Happiness

  • Solid friendships

  • Good sleep



Unfortunately it is much easier to make and keep bad habits than good ones. However, you can always decide to take the control.


Positive habits to adopt:

  • Healthy diet (less fat, sugar & salt – more fruits & veggies)

  • Less sodas, coffees, more water

  • Regular physical activity

  • Enough sleep

  • Less time on social media

  • Quit smoking

  • Less alcohol


So, how to change your habits to make good ones?


First, start the day focusing on yourself

Take 15 to 30 minutes to practice a physical activity. Alternatively, you can mediate. Focus on you and your needs.

By integrating this routine daily, you will start every day with a positive energy.


Then, identify your bad habits

You have to work on your bad habits to replace them by positive ones. You can’t quit your bad habits all together in one day; take one step at a time.

Set up simple and doable objectives.

For example, if you want to quit smoking, remove one cigarette a day, then 2 and 3, etc.

Focus on one habit at a time, and when it’s a success, you can move to the next one.


Allow you some time but stay motivated and dedicated to your goals.


Changing habits takes time. You will need to focus on the positive outcomes to stay motivated.

Add as much joy and pleasant things that you can.

Enjoying your day and activities is the best way to be efficient and welcome new opportunities.

For example, you can put in place a reward system in order to highlight your efforts. Obviously, the reward will not be related to one of your bad habits…


Your self-confidence is really important during the process. Your self-confidence will allow you to transform your life and trust your capabilities.


You have the power to change, you just have to trust yourself!
